Assistant Project Manager

At CTA, an Assistant Project Manager (APM) assists in running complex commercial building projects for our clients in the private, public and federal government sectors. An APM reports to the Project Manager and splits their time between the office and the field. APM’s thrive in our team-oriented culture when they bring with them a genuine spirit to collaborate and strong communication skills.

Under the supervision of the Project Manager an APM assists in the planning, scheduling and controlling of preconstruction, project setup, procurement, construction and closeout of a project. This position is critical to the success of a project and provides a diversity of experience. Responsibilities include permitting, management of the procurement process, submittal process, and various project control logs to track these processes, as well as Document Control, RFIs and Project Change Orders. APMs play a significant role in the preparation and coordination of all project meetings and assistant in the cost projection process.

Successful APMs are well-versed in software tools. A 4-year bachelors degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management is preferred for individuals applying for the position. APMs who excel at their work receive the guidance and support required to advance within the CTA organization.
