Construction of a new 121,000 square foot Maynard High School adjacent to the existing school which will remain occupied during construction. In addition to classrooms, the new school will include a kitchen, cafeteria, auditorium, gymnasium, art and music classrooms, and vocational technology classrooms. The new school will also incluse a radio/tv station, integral to the school program. The gymnasium and auditorium are designed to be accessible to the community after school hours while securing access to the school building.
The second phase will be the removal of the old school and related site work.
The project is participating in the MA CHPS program for sustainable design, and is currently scheduled for final completion in December 2013.
