Project Superintendent

Lead responsibility and accountability to the Project Executive and to the client for all of the field operations on a project. Responsible for directing and supervising the work and efforts of subcontractors to ensure that the requirements of the project are met with respect to safety, schedule, quality control and cost control. Support the requirement to provide construction management/general contracting services that meet or exceed the expectations of our clients and position CTA as a leader in the marketplace.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Become fully versed in the requirements of the Owner/CTA agreement for the project.
  • Develop, update, modify (as required), and maintain the project schedule including a master schedule, 60/90 day look-ahead schedules, and two week look-ahead schedules.
  • Assure the implementation and continuous maintenance of corporate safety program requirements in all of the day-to-day operations on the project.
  • Communicate the date by which all materials must arrive on the job to project manager for preparation of the contract items lists and shop drawing schedules. Assist project manager in follow-up for material and equipment deliveries.
  • Develop and maintain the site specific safety plan.
  • Develop and maintain the site logistics plan.
  • Train and develop the skills of any direct subordinates.
  • Conduct weekly foreman and superintendents meetings. Assure regular minutes of these meetings are accurately prepared and distributed.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and safety pre-task meetings as required.
  • Assure daily construction reports are prepared in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Serve as liaison with the community in the areas where the project is being performed. Promote CTA in the communities we work and to the public at large.
  • Assure minority workplace participation goals are achieved.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the project team for purposes of updates on the status of the field work and communication of any issues requiring the input or action of others on the project team, and for notification to the project team of issues that may be of importance or interest to them.
  • Establish and maintain a system of document control to assure work is being installed in accordance with the latest design documentation and approved shop drawings.
  • Communicate any issues requiring additional information from designers in a timely fashion to the project manager for issuance of RFI’s.
  • Assure monthly job progress photographs are taken in ample quantity to accurately depict the progress of the work.
