Construction of a new Tewksbury High School presents the challenge of working on an occupied site with limited access. The project entails the phased construction of a new 218,781-square-foot building and demolition and abatement of an existing 175,000-square-foot school.
Construction will include classrooms, administrative offices, gymnasium, dining and food service facilities, custodial and maintenance areas, and an auditorium. Site work includes athletic fields, running track, parking lots, and utilities. Performed as a joint venture, the project is participating in the Massachusetts Collaborative for High Performance Schools (MA CHPS).
This three-year project is currently scheduled for final completion in September 2013.
