CTA Ranks Among Nation’s Top Contractors

WALTHAM – CTA Construction Co. Inc. ranks in the Top 400 contractors nationwide, according to a newly published report by Engineering News-Record. Posting $138 million in 2013 revenues, the Waltham-based general contractor advanced two spots over where it placed in last year’s national rankings.

CTA placed 376th in the ENR rankings, reaching the milestone after just 14 years in business and in the wake of a national recession that severely impacted the construction industry. CTA credits its success to a commitment to building a strong team and increased pricing power in the market.

“We have succeeded in delivering great customer service and competitive pricing for our clients by building and keeping a strong team that can deliver quality and value on every project. Despite the recession, we were able to grow our business and never lay off an employee for lack of work,” said Patrick Tompkins, who co-founded CTA in 2000 with Lyle Coghlin.

CTA Construction is an award-winning general contractor that has delivered in excess of $800 million in building projects for both public and private clients. CTA’s portfolio includes office buildings, housing complexes, school buildings, and public safety and military facilities.

Among ongoing projects, CTA is the general contractor on the $46 million Dracut High School, $36.2 million Douglas public schools project, and the $28.2 million Bresnahan Elementary School in Newsburyport.
