The Hotel Buckminster project is the renovations and reconfiguration of the first floor lobby and construction of 18 new apartment units, and new mechanical and electrical systems. Construction was coordinated around the operations of a working hotel and occupied commercial spaces. The lobby renovations were performed in two phases to maintain hotel access and included a new entrance, a new reception and waiting area and restoration of some of the hotel’s historic architectural features. The mechanical work includes the installation of a new 4000amp electrical service, a new rooftop-cooling tower and a new fire protection service including a fire pump.
