CTA Construction renovated the existing 52,000 sf elementary school and started building a new 18,000 sf addition during the academic year while the school was occupied and in session.  Intricate phasing was required to accommodate the daily school operations.  Construction also included full interior demolition as well as removal and replacement of the existing roof system.  New natural light monitoring wells and a state-of-the-art media center brought the aging school into the present age of technology.  Expansion of the parking area and re-routing of traffic flow were carried out to alleviate previous congestion of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
