This project consists of extensive site development and construction of a new elementary school building for Pre-K to Grade 5 on a 12-acre site.  The new 2 and 3-story, multi-winged, steel framed with detailed masonry veneer building features classrooms, a gymnasium, a media center, an auditorium/cafeteria with kitchen, and administrative offices.  The school’s design encompasses many green elements that maximize natural lighting, and include also solar wall heating, utilization of recycled rainwater for toilets, reduction of solar heat transfer with white roof, sun shades, and insulated fiberglass windows.  This project participated in the Massachusetts Collaborative for High Performance Schools (MA-CHPS).

The East Elementary School project won an Excellence in Construction Award for Green Building in 2011 from the Associated Builders and Contractors Massachusetts Chapter.
