The 27,000-square-foot, two-story facility is home to the University of Massachusetts Amherst Police Department, and provides space for multiple policing functions, including patrol, investigation and emergency response. It also houses crime prevention and educational services to the university campus and a new Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This building meets the highest level of energy efficiency and sustainable standards and includes such features as geothermal wells and high efficiency mechanical systems. It received a LEED Gold certification, the first building to do so on the UMass Amherst campus.
